about.

I’m Sam, an Australian filmmaker based out of the Gold Coast. I work mostly in documentary - long form projects filmed over years, as well as shorter videos for people, organisations and events. My forte is interviewing people and weaving a humble, informative and subtly hilarious story from the footage.

I grew up on a farm just outside of Bendigo, contested birthplace of the Chiko Roll. From there, it was off to Melbourne for studies, followed by five years in the Philippines, where I lived in a fishing village and honed my doco skills. Throughout my 14 years as a professional filmmaker, I've worked for two production companies as a videographer and director, run my own creative agency, Good Story, and I've crewed/freelanced on a range of independent Film/TV projects around Australia too.
